MichiganONE DMR Net for 4/29/2019

Net Statistics

Stations Checked In: 16
Net Closed: 8:41 PM

The net today saw 16 stations checking in, including 2 new stations, on this "snow in April" edition of the net. Continued thanks to everyone for spreading the word on the net - I hope everyone is enjoying the DMR fun and fellowship.

Tonight was Randy N8YUI's first hand at the helm, and he did a fine job steering the ship. I'm sure we'll see more of Randy as the NCS in the coming weeks and months here at the MichiganONE DMR Net. If anyone else is interested in giving it a try, please reach out to Dustin N8RMA.

BE SURE to check the announcements section at the end of the post for details on the next few weeks nets - there are some different days and times (testing out times to see what works best) so you won't want to miss out.

MichiganONE DMR Net for 4/22/2019

Net Statistics

Station Check-Ins: 16
Net Closed: 8:30 PM

The net today saw 16 stations checking, on this post Michigan QSO Party edition of the net. Continued thanks to everyone who has promoted the net, from letting a friend know to spreading the word during club meetings. It's appreciated.

Next week we'll have a new NCS join the ranks, Randy N8YUI, also in the Kalamazoo area. Please be kind to the new NCS as I'm hoping we'll get to spread the duty around from time to time. If anyone else is interested in taking a week or being a backup, please let me know! This is a Michigan net, so having NC's from all over the state is fitting and fun.

In May the net will try some new days and times, just getting a feel for the timing of the net. Make sure to subscribe to the site for emailed updates when we post them.

Net Update for 4/17/2019

I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for a fantastic start to the net. It's grown steadily each week and I've really enjoyed meeting other DMR enthusiasts in the state of Michigan. I look forward to this net continuing to be a weekly DMR meeting place and to meeting more and more hams.

Firstly, I've added a calendar to the site which lists several other radio nets and happenings around the Midwest. Click on the calendar tab at the top to check it out - if you have anything to add you can use the Contact Us form to let me know.

Second, there are some changes coming to the net based on some feedback I've received so far. First, in the month of May we'll be adjusting the net day and time to see if there are other time slots that work out better for a larger group of operators. There are tons of nets out there so finding a good day/time and sitting on it will be a critical step for the sustainability of the net. The exact details will be announced on the net but below is a rough idea of what May will look like:

06-MAY:
The net will remain on Monday but the time will shift to 8:30 PM. We will see if this allows more operators with Monday 8:00 PM nets (MI D-Star ARES, GM 440 and Arrow) to check in.

13-MAY:
We will continue with Monday at 8:30 PM.

21-MAY:
The net still shift to Tuesday at 7:00 PM. This an hour before the Indiana Statewide DMR Net. We'll see if Tuesday is a better time slot.

28-MAY:
We will continue with Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

This should help us understand the ideal time to hold the net, and moving into June the schedule will be final. Once the schedule is finalized, we'll be having some new net controllers handling some of the nets. More information on that to come.

Thank you again for a great kick off - you should all be proud in helping get this started.

MichiganONE DMR Net for 4/15/2019

Net Statistics

Station Check-Ins: 19
Net Closed: 8:56 PM

The net today saw 19 stations checking in, on this Tax Day special edition. Big thanks to the Arrow Communications Association for helping get the word out - we had many check-ins from the Ann Arbor area and look forward to more!

Several folks have suggested pushing the time of the net back to either 8:30 or 9:00 PM on Monday, to help alleviate conflicts with other Michigan nets during the 8:00 PM time. We'll be trying a new time out for the month of May, so check here for an announcement on that.
