Net Update for 4/17/2019

I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for a fantastic start to the net. It's grown steadily each week and I've really enjoyed meeting other DMR enthusiasts in the state of Michigan. I look forward to this net continuing to be a weekly DMR meeting place and to meeting more and more hams.

Firstly, I've added a calendar to the site which lists several other radio nets and happenings around the Midwest. Click on the calendar tab at the top to check it out - if you have anything to add you can use the Contact Us form to let me know.

Second, there are some changes coming to the net based on some feedback I've received so far. First, in the month of May we'll be adjusting the net day and time to see if there are other time slots that work out better for a larger group of operators. There are tons of nets out there so finding a good day/time and sitting on it will be a critical step for the sustainability of the net. The exact details will be announced on the net but below is a rough idea of what May will look like:

06-MAY:
The net will remain on Monday but the time will shift to 8:30 PM. We will see if this allows more operators with Monday 8:00 PM nets (MI D-Star ARES, GM 440 and Arrow) to check in.

13-MAY:
We will continue with Monday at 8:30 PM.

21-MAY:
The net still shift to Tuesday at 7:00 PM. This an hour before the Indiana Statewide DMR Net. We'll see if Tuesday is a better time slot.

28-MAY:
We will continue with Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

This should help us understand the ideal time to hold the net, and moving into June the schedule will be final. Once the schedule is finalized, we'll be having some new net controllers handling some of the nets. More information on that to come.

Thank you again for a great kick off - you should all be proud in helping get this started.
